The production of vodka, which was launched by Wechmuth Manor this summer, has received its first award. VON EST wheat vodka won third place in the competition for the best organic drink organised by the Estonian Organic Farming Foundation.
Estonia’s Best Organic Drink Competition
Wechmuth (Võhmuta) manor distillery or Manor Spirits OÜ VON EST received an award in the category of best organic drink. The jury pointed out the good taste of vodka in the evaluation – the drink has both sweetness and softness.
“It is very amazing that the drink is made from end to end, and it has a good story. The design of the product is suitably ascetic for vodka,” the jury commented.
The owner of the manor, Gareth Niblett, was moved by the award. “I am delighted that the effort we have put into the production of truly organic vodka has been noticed. Our journey began about a decade ago when I began my search for historical materials about the manor, with plans to restore both the manor building and the old vodka distillery there,” said Niblett.
“After opening our new vodka distillery, we spent almost a year developing our product to reach its best and at the same time reflect the heritage of Estonian vodka production. This award gives independent feedback to our customers that VON EST wheat vodka is a high-quality product,” he added.
